Co-ops are a big deal in the U.S. They’re an innovative form of ownership, with a limited set of resources and a very low corporate tax rate.
There are a few other ways to build an electric cooperative: Own it yourself.
This is an option if you can afford it.
There is a cooperative credit card option, and you can apply for a loan through the Cooperative Credit Union.

Start a cooperative.
You may have a number of options to help pay for your cooperative.
One option is the Cooperatives America Fund.
It provides up to $25,000 for up to 100 electric cooperatives and other organizations that contribute to public utility systems, and it has an online application to help applicants apply.
Another option is a state-backed cooperative loan.
The federal government provides up $25 million to cooperatives for each year they’re in operation.
There’s a website for that as well.
You can also start a business.
The Co-op Bank of America offers loans to small and medium-sized businesses, including cooperatives, as well as for small businesses that have less than 50 employees and are self-sufficient.

There aren’t any formal loans to build cooperatives.
However, there are some ways to get money from a cooperative that don’t involve a loan.

Make a donation to a co, nonprofit, or charity.
There may be opportunities to make money from your cooperative or charitable organization through a donation.
Some cooperatives have dedicated staff that donate money to them.

There can be many ways to make your own contribution to a cooperative, but most of these are legal and are required to get a loan for the cooperative.

Find a coop that’s part of the United States Conference of Mayors.
There have been some great cooperative co-operatives around the country, including Cooperative City of Washington, and several have gotten the United Nations’ recognition as a world leader for sustainability.
These cooperative coops are in different cities and are open to all.
If you are looking to create a cooperative with your local co-operative, it may be best to contact your local county office.
Some cities in California have adopted cooperative cities, which are a kind of model for other cities.

The co-ownership process is pretty straightforward.
The process involves applying to build a cooperative for yourself, and then applying for a cooperative loan through Cooperative Credit Unions.
There also is a variety of options for co-workers to become part of your co-working space.

You will also need to sign up for a membership card, which is required if you’re applying for an existing cooperative loan or for a new cooperative loan to become a coowner.
